Let Thing’s Be

Creating a new work is often a journey of exploration and experimentation. Typically, it begins with me  gathering inspiration from various sources such as emotions, experiences, nature, or music. A vision or concept in my mind or I might start with a blank canvas and allow the work to evolve organically through experimentation.

My process is sometimes retrospect towards my initial mark making. As I work on a piece over time, sometimes stepping away and returning with a fresh perspective, or returning to a completed work.

My final work often emerges as a synthesis of the my original vision, the journey of, and the realization to accept what is. This process allows for the creation of unique and expressive abstract artworks.

Shape You

The world is complicated beyond comprehension. So we make simplified assumptions to simplify things. Simplified assumptions reduce what things are and who people are. We do this to better deal with situations and people. The need to control and understand everything can really put a strain on how you deal with life when things or people don’t meet the simplified structures we have built them up to be in our on minds. Changes that occur out-stand the structures we have created often leave us feeling disappointment or hurt. Those things depending on how devastating they are can change you. Give up a need to simplify things you don’t understand, give up the need to control outcomes that are out of your control. Deal with life’s obstacles for what they are and not what you wish them to be. Be the thing that transforms who you are, not anything or anyone else.

Things take time: Below the surface

It all begins with an idea.

This collection of work is different from Rooms. This collection is a composite of works that have taken on metamorphosis like process through time. Very much like the process we go through in life, our growth to maturity and the different stages in between. Sometimes reverting in stages, changing not always for the better. Also, reflective in the work is the emotion and mood through those stages. Care free mark marking, layering and stripping away with no regard for any marks made before or ones that will be made later.
